CHILDRENS AREA ADDS PLAY BLOCKS
Did you know that children develop essential pre-reading skills by playing
with blocks? In addition to providing an excellent opportunity for social
and physical development, block play enhances creative thinking, cooperative
skills, coordination, and logical reasoning. The Larsen-Sant Library is
happy to now offer a set of "Bionic Blocks", " Kapla blocks", "Straws and
Connectors" for play at the library. These block sets are fun for ages 3
to 103. We encourage parents and children to come build and play together
with these blocks at the library . Constructive play with blocks develops
early literacy skills and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math )
skills that are being promoted by all educators.

This block-play program
was made possible with a grant from the Idaho Community Foundation.
