October – 6th Lawn Boy by Gary Paulsen

It’s about a 12-year-oldMinnesota boy who in the course of a summer earns half a million dollars without really doing a whole lot.

 

November – 3rd Frindle by Andrew Clements

The story of Nick Allen and his desire to show his teacher Mrs. Granger that words can come from anywhere. Even though Nick is known to be the funny guy, especially by turning the thermostat up in his classroom, this is one thing he is serious about and he is determined to make a pen into a ‘frindle.

 

January – 5th The Year Money Grew on Trees by Aaron Hawkins

With frostbitten fingers, sleepless nights and sore muscles, 14-year-old Jackson Jones and his posse of cousins discover the lost art of winging it when they take over an orchard of 300 wild apple trees.

 

February – 2nd My Side of The Mountain by Jean Craighead George

It features a boy who learns courage, independence, and the need for companionship while attempting to live in the Catskill Mountains of New York State.

Join us for lively discussions, activities, friendship and fun! For boys ages 8 – 12 accompanied by a caring adult. Sign up and pick up your booklist at the Larsen-Sant Library! We will meet at 7:00 p.m. (please not age requirements. No younger siblings please.)
